THE SHORT ANSWER

To price coaching packages, sell a set number of sessions rather than hours, and fix session length and payment terms before you quote. In the made-up example at $100 an hour, one session is $150, four are $750 and eight are $1,500, or $1,425 paid in full (5% off) or $750 now and $750 before session five.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

- Price the package, not the hour: number of sessions, length of each, how long it runs and what support sits between sessions. Your hours still decide the price behind the scenes.
- Example at $100 an hour: single session 1.5 h = $150; 4 sessions 7 h + $50 = $750; 8 sessions 14 h + $100 = $1,500. Per session, $187.50 for both packages.
- Session length changes price: moving eight sessions from 60 to 90 minutes adds 4 hours, or $400 in the example.
- Payment options in the example: pay in full with 5% off ($75 off $1,500 = $1,425), or two payments of $750, the second before session five.
- Workspace369 Cadet ($29 a month, $23.25 billed yearly) includes catalog-based proposals and deposit on acceptance; online booking pages are on higher plans. 14-day free trial (card required).

To price coaching packages, sell a set number of sessions rather than hours, and decide session length and payment terms before you quote. This guide builds one made-up example: a single session, a four-session package and an eight-session package, a pay-in-full price and a two-payment option. Swap in your own rate. To test a proposal and deposit setup yourself, the [trial checklist](https://clientworkhq.net/tools/trial-checklist/) lists what to try.

## What a coaching package price is (and is not)

A client does not buy 60 minutes of your time. They buy a set of conversations and a result. So a coaching package names the number of sessions, the length of each, how long it runs, what support sits between sessions and the price.

Your hours still decide the price; they just stay behind the scenes. A package price is not a market rate and not a promise of results. For tools that fit coaches, see our [best CRM for coaches](https://clientworkhq.net/blog/best-crm-for-coaches/) guide.

## How we chose the numbers

One formula, one made-up rate, no market data:

1. **Price = hours x rate + costs.** Rate: $100 an hour (example).
2. **Every hour counted:** the calls, prep and notes, intake and plan, final review.
3. **Between-session support counted or capped,** since email check-ins and workbooks take time.
4. **Terms that add up:** the pay-in-full price and the two payments are recomputed below.

This guide makes no claim about what coaches typically charge. Workspace369 facts come from its pricing and feature pages, read October 17, 2026.

**What we did not test.** We did not run a paid plan or sell a package. Your hours and costs will differ.

## Step by step

### Step 1. Price sessions, not hours

Decide the number of sessions, the length of each and the duration (eight sessions over twelve weeks leaves time to practice between calls). Decide these first, then price. Do not change the length later and keep the same price.

### Step 2. Count every hour

The call itself, but also prep, session notes, the intake and any follow-up you promise. Between-session support is hours too, so count it or cap it.

### Step 3. Add costs and check the tiers

Add costs such as a workbook or tools on top. Then check each tier is hours x rate + costs.

### Step 4. Choose payment terms

Offer pay in full with a small discount, and a two-payment option. Tie the second payment to a date or a session so nobody has to chase it.

### Step 5. Write the rules on one page

Add what happens if a session is rescheduled and when the package ends, for example sessions expire four months after the start date.

## The worked example (made-up numbers)

| Package | Hours | Hours x $100 | Costs | Price | Per session |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Single session | 1 call + 0.5 prep and notes = 1.5 | $150 | $0 | **$150** | $150 |
| 4 sessions | 4 calls + 2 prep and notes + 1 intake and plan = 7 | $700 | $50 workbook and tools | **$750** | $187.50 |
| 8 sessions | 8 calls + 4 prep and notes + 1 intake + 1 final review = 14 | $1,400 | $100 | **$1,500** | $187.50 |

**Session length.** Moving from 60 to 90 minutes adds half an hour per call. Across eight sessions that is 4 more hours, or $400.

### Payment terms for the $1,500 package

| Option | Math | Amount |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Pay in full, 5% off | $1,500 - (5% x $1,500 = $75) | **$1,425** |
| Two payments | $750 now + $750 before session five | $1,500 |

## A copyable package page

1. **Name,** number of sessions and length of each.
2. **How long it runs,** such as twelve weeks.
3. **What is included between calls,** such as email check-ins or a workbook.
4. **The price** and the payment options.
5. **The rules:** rescheduling and end date.

Describe the outcome you work toward. Do not promise a result. Mistakes to avoid: pricing from hours and forgetting prep and notes, a package with no end date, and vague terms with no payment date.

## Doing this in Workspace369

Per Workspace369’s pricing and feature pages (read October 17, 2026):

- **Each package is a catalog item** with a name, description and price in your [catalog](https://workspace369.com/features/products/?utm_source=clientworkhq.net&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=how-to-price-coaching-packages&utm_content=lf347-how-to-price-coaching-packages-sessions-length-payment-terms). The lowest plan, Cadet, holds up to 20 items.
- **Proposal.** Add the package to a [proposal](https://workspace369.com/features/quoting/?utm_source=clientworkhq.net&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=how-to-price-coaching-packages&utm_content=lf347-how-to-price-coaching-packages-sessions-length-payment-terms); the client opens one link and sees the package, total and your terms.
- **Deposit** as a fixed amount, here $750, paid when they accept.
- **Contract and second payment.** The contract goes out automatically when the proposal is accepted, and the second $750 goes out later as an invoice. The client does not need an account to open the proposal.
- **Price.** [Cadet](https://workspace369.com/pricing/?utm_source=clientworkhq.net&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=how-to-price-coaching-packages&utm_content=lf347-how-to-price-coaching-packages-sessions-length-payment-terms) is $29 a month, or $23.25 a month billed yearly, for one seat, with a 14-day free trial (card required).

**Limitations.** Online booking pages, for clients who book sessions themselves, are on higher plans. Scheduled payment plans are also a higher-plan row, so on Cadet the second payment is a manually timed invoice. The catalog caps at 20 items. We did not run a paid plan.

## Which approach fits your situation

| Your situation | What to do |
| --- | --- |
| New coach, unsure of demand | Offer a single session and a four-session package first. |
| Clients want a longer program | Offer eight sessions over twelve weeks with two payments. |
| Cash flow matters | Offer a pay-in-full discount. |
| You promise heavy between-session support | Count the hours or cap the support in writing. |
| Clients book sessions themselves | Check online booking, which needs a higher Workspace369 plan. |

## Frequently asked questions

### How do you price coaching packages?

Use hours x rate + costs for each package, counting calls, prep, notes and intake, then sell it as a set number of sessions.

### Should I price by session or by package?

By package. Show the per-session figure for comparison, but sell the bundle with a duration and rules.

### How long should a coaching package be?

It depends on your work. The example uses eight sessions over twelve weeks; write the end date on the page.

### Should I offer a pay-in-full discount?

You can. The example uses 5%, which turns $1,500 into $1,425.

### What if a client reschedules?

Decide in advance and write it on the page, for example sessions expire four months after the start date.

### Are these prices what I should charge?

No. The rate and hours are made up to show the method.

## Make the demo prove something.

Use one sample project with invented client details. Add a reschedule or an extra revision after the proposal is accepted.

Record the agreed scope, price and client responsibilities. Assign the next action to a named person and set a due date. Change one part of the job and check who can see the revised agreement. Open the client-facing view and confirm that the next step is clear. Prepare an invoice and reconcile it with the agreed work. Ask a teammate to follow the project without your explanation.
