HoneyBook Starter was $16 a month. Now it is $29, billed yearly. So here are six apps like HoneyBook, ranked, and our number one pick. First, HoneyBook is loved: 4.7 out of 5 on Capterra.

Easy to use, great support. The complaints are about price. Its strengths are real: the biggest template gallery and community, and contracts, a portal and AI on Starter. But the features you want sit higher up: Starter is $36, then climb to Essentials, $59, for automations. A third team member means Premium, at $129 a month.

Any replacement has to carry the same job: inquiry, proposal, contract, deposit, and delivery. So we ranked each alternative on the solo price, the team price, and what's locked where. Number one: Workspace369, from $29 a month. One client's whole journey in it, on Voyager: the request, the signed proposal, the project, the hours, paid. Proposals in your style, on every plan: pick a theme, then another, it all restyles, and your client sees exactly that.

Every plan has a client portal: share the project, the client verifies, sees progress, and pays invoices. Automations come on every plan: an overdue invoice sends its own reminder, from $29. On Specialist, clients book themselves: a service, a time, booked, and it is on your calendar. On Voyager, emails and texts share one client thread, with an AI summary on top. On Specialist, the phone is built in: a client calls, you answer, hang up, and the AI summary is waiting.

And you can just ask: who still owes me a deposit? Workspace AI checks and answers. Bill by the hour? On Voyager, run a timer, stop it, and bill it to the invoice. Being newer shows: one clean design on laptop, tablet and phone.

A client pays, every screen updates. One app. The plans: Cadet, $29 for one. Voyager, $74 for two, with texting and time. Specialist, $149 for ten.

Pay yearly and Cadet is $23.25 a month. Second: Dubsado, if you love building your own workflows. Starter, $35, includes a client portal. Premier, $55, adds scheduling, workflows and Zapier, with three extra users free.

Reviewers give it 4.2 on Capterra, but ease of use scores 3.7, and setup is "a major endeavor". It raised prices too: Starter was $20, now $35 a month. Test it properly on the 21-day Premier trial.

Third: Moxie, the budget pick if you work solo. Starter, $12, already has proposals, contracts and schedulers. Climb to Pro, $25, for automations and a phone line. Starter even includes the Moxie AI assistant. Teams tops out at five members, for $40.

Fourth: Bonsai, if you bill by the hour. Priced per seat: Basic, $15, is time tracking and a CRM. Invoices wait for Essentials, $25. Premium, $39 a seat, adds the deals pipeline, QuickBooks and Xero. So five people on Essentials already cost $125.

Fifth: Plutio, which limits clients and team size instead of features. Core, $19, caps you at nine active clients. Pro, $49, has unlimited clients and 30 contributors. Every core feature is on every plan. The catch is that nine-client cap.

Sixth: 17hats, one plan for two brands. It is $60 a month, with three users and two brands included, plus a 30-day money-back policy. Extra users are $5 a month, and extra brands $10. Photographers: the session, the retainer, then the delivery, all for one client. Payment schedules come on every plan: the client opens the invoice, pays by card, and it is marked paid.

On Specialist, the same client books the next shoot from your booking page. Entry prices, monthly: Moxie $12, Bonsai $15, Plutio $19, Workspace369 $29, Dubsado $35, HoneyBook $36. You plus three: Moxie $40, Plutio $49, Dubsado $55, Workspace369 $94, HoneyBook $129. Automations, cheapest plan: Moxie $25, Workspace369 $29, Dubsado $55, HoneyBook $59. What the extra buys: texting, time tracking and automations together, from $74.

Need it free? HubSpot Free covers two users, with quotes, invoices and one branded booking link. Otherwise, test on trials: HoneyBook 30 days, Dubsado 21, Moxie and Workspace369 14. Switching is moving day: export your client list, bring it over by CSV, and you are moved in. Before you cancel: export your clients, save signed contracts, and settle open payment schedules.

Moving to Workspace369? Upload the CSV, AI maps the columns, and your clients are in. The ranking. Workspace369. Dubsado.

Moxie. Bonsai. Plutio. 17hats. By situation: solo on a tight budget, Moxie.

Building workflows, Dubsado. Texting clients, billing hours or a growing team, Workspace369. Price the plan you would actually need, then run one real booking in each trial.
