The best Dubsado alternative depends on why you are leaving. Our pick is Workspace369, which we make, when you want email, texts, time tracking and invoices on one client record. HoneyBook suits owners who want guided setup, Moxie a small solo budget, Bonsai hourly billing, Plutio a large contributor team, and 17hats two brands on one plan.
Prices and plan details were checked on each vendor’s own pricing page on October 5, 2026, in US dollars. This is an assessment of published plans, not a hands-on test of every product. Still unsure about Dubsado itself? Read our Dubsado review.

Who should switch from Dubsado, and who should stay?
Dubsado has two plans. Starter is $35 a month ($335 billed yearly) and Premier is $55 a month ($525 billed yearly). Premier adds scheduling, automated workflows, public proposals and unlimited lead capture forms; Starter allows one active lead form. Both plans include invoicing with payment plans, client portals and three additional users, and each extra brand is $10 a month. The 21-day trial runs on Premier. Dubsado says these rates apply to new subscribers from December 1, 2025, while earlier subscribers keep their previous pricing. Dubsado pricing, Dubsado product information
Stay if you enjoy building forms and workflows, your booking process repeats closely and three included users cover your team. That is good value at $55.
Look elsewhere if one of these describes you:
- Setup keeps slipping. Dubsado rewards owners who configure it. If your workflows are still half-built months later, a guided or simpler tool may suit you better.
- Clients text you. Dubsado’s product reference lists email integration for client communication, not texting. If clients reply by text, check where those messages will live.
- The team is growing. Past three additional users, Dubsado moves into paid user tiers, starting at $25 a month for 4 to 10 users.

1. Workspace369: our pick for connected client work
Fits: businesses that want the request, proposal, project, conversation, hours and invoice on one client record. Evaluate: Voyager, $74 a month for two seats. Our pick, and we make it.
Every plan includes invoices, proposals the client signs through a link, projects, a client portal, payment schedules, retainers with auto-invoicing and a service catalog showing cost and gross margin. Email workflows start on Cadet ($29, one seat, up to three active). Voyager adds a shared inbox with texting, one client thread for email and texts with an AI summary, time tracking that bills timer entries onto invoices, and Requests, a lead form whose submissions convert to clients. Specialist ($149, ten seats) adds client self-booking pages and deposits paid on proposal acceptance. Extra seats are $10 a month from Voyager; every plan has a 14-day free trial. Workspace369 pricing
2. Dubsado vs HoneyBook: choose HoneyBook for guided setup
Fits: owners who would rather start from templates than build every workflow. Evaluate: Essentials, $59 a month ($49 a month billed yearly).
Starter ($36) covers proposals, contracts, invoices, a client portal and up to two live lead forms. Essentials adds the scheduler, automations, QuickBooks Online and up to two team members. The trial lasts 30 days. HoneyBook pricing
Tradeoff: HoneyBook costs slightly more than Dubsado at each comparable tier, and more than two team members means Premium at $129. Our HoneyBook vs Dubsado comparison goes deeper on that matchup.
3. Dubsado vs Moxie: the solo budget pick
Fits: solo freelancers who want the basics at the lowest price. Evaluate: Starter at $12, or Pro at $25 for automation.
Starter already includes proposals, contracts, invoicing, time tracking, meeting schedulers, a sales pipeline and basic accounting. Pro adds workflow automations, a white-labeled client portal and client request management. After Plutio Core, Moxie Pro is the cheapest plan with automations in this list, and it costs less than Workspace369 Cadet. The trial is 14 days. Moxie pricing
Tradeoff: Starter and Pro are built for one account holder, though Pro allows unlimited project collaborators. A team needing full accounts moves to Teams at $40 for up to five members.
4. Dubsado vs Bonsai: best for hourly work
Fits: consultants and studios whose invoices come from logged hours. Evaluate: Essentials, $25 per user per month.
Basic ($15 per user) tracks time but does not include invoices. Essentials adds invoices, proposals, contracts, scheduling and the client portal. Premium ($39 per user) adds the deals pipeline and QuickBooks or Xero. The trial is seven days. Bonsai pricing
Tradeoff: per-user pricing climbs with headcount. Five people on Essentials cost $125 a month; Workspace369 Voyager with five seats is $104.
5. Dubsado vs Plutio: flat pricing for project teams
Fits: teams with many contributors who all need access. Evaluate: Pro, $49 a month.
Plutio says every plan has the same core features, including scheduling, a client portal, time tracking and workflow automations, with workflow-action allowances that grow by plan. Core ($19) allows nine active clients and no contributors; Pro removes the client cap and includes 30 contributors, cheaper than per-seat pricing for a big team. The trial is seven days. Plutio pricing
Tradeoff: the nine-client cap means a tenth active project moves you to Pro, so budget $49 as your real price.
6. Dubsado vs 17hats: one plan for two brands
Fits: owners running two brands from one login. Evaluate: the all-inclusive plan, $60 a month, $600 a year or $800 for two years.
The pricing page’s comparison grid lists three users and two brands included, with extra users at $5 and extra brands at $10 a month, plus lead handling for The Knot and WeddingWire. It offers a seven-day trial and a 30-day money-back policy. 17hats pricing
Tradeoff: the page also shows an older level-by-level grid and a sale banner, so confirm what your checkout includes before you commit.
What is the cheapest Dubsado alternative?
Lowest entry price: Moxie Starter at $12, Bonsai Basic at $15 per user, Plutio Core at $19. Cheapest plan with automations: Plutio Core $19, Moxie Pro $25, Workspace369 Cadet $29, Dubsado Premier $55, HoneyBook Essentials $59. Texting, time tracking and SMS workflow steps in one plan: Workspace369 Voyager at $74.
Cheapest only helps if the plan carries your process. A wedding planner collecting a deposit, milestones and a final balance needs payment schedules; our event and wedding planner CRM guide covers that case.
How to switch from Dubsado: a one-client trial
Run one real client through each finalist before moving everyone:
- Export your Dubsado contacts to CSV (Dubsado help) and import them into the trial. Check that names, emails, phones and companies mapped correctly.
- Save signed contracts and completed forms as files. A client list does not carry documents.
- List open invoices and payment plans with dates and amounts, so no scheduled payment is lost in the move.
- Write down each active Dubsado workflow in plain steps, then rebuild only the one you use most.
- Run the client from enquiry to paid invoice: proposal, signature, deposit, invoice and payment reminder.
- Check the client’s view on a phone: the proposal, the portal and the invoice.
- Pick a cutover date for new enquiries and keep Dubsado until open payment plans finish.
When to compare Workspace369
Compare Workspace369 when your reason for leaving is the work after the booking: texts in one app, hours in another and invoices in a third. On Voyager, test one client thread with email and texts, a timer entry billed onto an invoice, and a Request converted to a client. Choose Specialist if clients should book themselves or pay a deposit when they accept a proposal. Google Calendar syncs both ways on every plan: events assigned to you go to the Google calendar you choose, and your Google events show in Workspace369’s calendar. Our Workspace369 and Dubsado comparison sets the two side by side, and the pricing page lists every plan gate.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best alternative to Dubsado?
Our pick is Workspace369, which we make, for connected client communication, time tracking and billing, from $29 a month. HoneyBook is stronger for guided setup, Moxie for a solo budget from $12 a month, Bonsai for hourly billing and Plutio for large contributor teams (prices checked October 5, 2026).
Is there a free version of Dubsado?
No. Dubsado offers two paid plans and a 21-day trial of Premier. The free way to evaluate an alternative is its trial: HoneyBook’s runs 30 days, Moxie’s and Workspace369’s 14, and Bonsai’s, Plutio’s and 17hats’ seven. HubSpot’s free CRM covers up to two users and 1,000 contacts, but it is a sales CRM, not a proposal-to-payment client workflow like Dubsado’s. HubSpot free CRM
Is HoneyBook cheaper than Dubsado?
No, though the gap is small. Billed monthly, Dubsado Starter is $35 against HoneyBook Starter at $36, and Dubsado Premier is $55 against HoneyBook Essentials at $59. Billed yearly, HoneyBook Starter and Essentials come to $348 and $588 a year ($29 and $49 a month), against Dubsado’s $335 and $525. HoneyBook pricing, Dubsado pricing
Which Dubsado alternative is best for wedding planners?
Wedding work is paid in stages, so test deposits, payment schedules and late-balance reminders first. Workspace369 includes payment schedules on every plan and deposits on proposal acceptance on Specialist. 17hats lists lead handling for The Knot and WeddingWire, useful if those sites send your enquiries.
Can I move my clients out of Dubsado?
Yes. Dubsado exports contacts to CSV with the fields you choose, and Workspace369 imports client details from a CSV after you check the mapped columns. Documents need separate handling: save signed contracts and forms, list open payment plans, and keep Dubsado active until scheduled payments finish.
